Join us on Tuesday, June 23 as the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Women’s Initiative sponsored by PNC will recognize the 2020 Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky honorees with a virtual celebration, taking place from noon to 1:00 p.m. The awards – sponsored by St. Elizabeth Healthcare – honor women who exemplify notable achievement, outstanding service in their professions or to the Northern Kentucky community, and the qualities of personal integrity, perseverance and leadership.

Longtime television anchor and Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Kathrine Nero will host this year’s event, which is going virtual for the first time ever. Ensuring that the noteworthy achievements of these women are celebrated in grand fashion, each honoree will be introduced by their nominator as they take to the virtual stage to address attendees about receiving their respective award.

To ensure that the entire community has the opportunity to celebrate this year’s honorees, this year’s festivities will be taking place free of charge on the NKY Chamber’s official Facebook page.

Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky History

The Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky Awards were created in 1984 by the late Nancy Boothe, wife of then-Northern Kentucky University President Leon Boothe and were sponsored by the Kentucky Post. After the newspaper closed in 2008, Toyota became the major sponsor, assumed responsibility for event production and supported the scholarship program. With the 2014 announcement of Toyota's headquarters consolidation and eventual relocation to Texas, the program was again in need of a champion to carry the torch to honor amazing, trailblazing women. The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Women's Initiative sponsored by PNC, adopted this program in 2017 and will continue its remarkable legacy. Over the past 35 years, more than 170 women have been honored for their outstanding service, integrity and leadership.
