  • Today is the Memorial of St. Catherine of Siena, one of the four female Doctors of the Catholic Church. St. Catherine lived during a particularly tumultuous time in Christian history when multiple popes were vying for supremacy. Her role as a peacemaker helped the Church to reform and to reunify. In our divided world, she serves as a role model for healing divisions and ending partisanship. Let us pray for unity and peace in our world. God of all, you created all humans as brothers and sisters who are called to reflect your divine love. Too often, we allow differences to divide us rather than help us to learn and grow together. Our world is filled with conflicts between and within nations, cultures, religions and even families. Help us learn from the example of St. Catherine of Siena to be bridge-builders and peace-makers so that we may live in harmony as the family you created us to be.

  • Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio serves and empowers people through God’s love in their times of vulnerability. We do so through a full range of local services that engage the community in building solidarity. With more than 374,000 people living in poverty in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Catholic Charities tackles food insecurity head on by offering mobile food pantries. We would not be able to do this work without our Freestore Foodbank partnership. That being said, we are taking part in the Freestore Foodbank's Hunger Walk & 5K Run again this year! Help us in tackling food insecurity head on. You can do so by running or walking the 5K or donating to our team. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/gf3iaE9k.
