Union, Kentucky Hall of Famer Darrell Lanigan was back behind the wheel of a #1 Club 29 racecar owned by John Weber on Saturday night, August 5 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) sanctioned the annual 'Hall of Fame Classic' and a $10,000 payday was up for grabs. Unfortunately, Darrell was not able to advance into the 50-lap feature event after placing seventh in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main. Darrell Lanigan Fifth in $20,000 Bill Emig Memorial

Darrell Lanigan, of Union, Kentucky, was back behind the wheel of a #1 Crate Late Model owned by Dick Neal from June 22-24 for the 'Bill Emig Memorial' at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. On Thursday night during RUSH Crate Late Model Series qualifying at the 4/10-mile speedplant, Darrell laid down the quickest lap of the 56 entrants to earn Fast Time honors.

After running second in his loaded heat race on Friday evening, Darrell started Saturday's $20,000 to win headliner from the inside of the fourth row. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer then worked his way past a couple of competitors during the 50-lap contest to land in the fifth finishing position behind only victor Max Blair, Cody Overton, Joe Martin, and Michael Norris! Lanigan Records $10,000 Win in Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial!

Making a surprise guest appearance in a Dick Neal-owned 604 Crate Late Model on Saturday night, June 3, Hall of Famer Darrell Lanigan walked away with a $10,000 payday in the 'Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial' at Latrobe Speedway in Latrobe, Pennsylvania! Darrell won his heat race in preliminary action and took the lead halfway through the 40-lap main event. At the checkers, the Union, Kentucky standout was celebrating the five-figure payday over a top five that included runner-up Jeremy Wonderling, Noah Brunell, Ryan Frazee, and Henry Hornsby III.

Earlier in the week, Darrell made his 2023 season debut on Wednesday, May 31 at the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series sanctioned a $23,023 to win showdown and a strong field of Super Late Model entrants were on hand. Driving a #1 Club 29 racecar owned by John Weber, Darrell timed in ninth quickest in Group B during the qualifying session before running fifth in his heat race and second in his B-Main. After getting involved in a couple of early skirmishes during the 50-lap feature, he was the first retiree in the contest and was relegated to a twenty-third place performance. Darrell Lanigan Pilots Tony Jackson, Jr. Entry in World 100

Along with 106 other entrants, Darrell Lanigan entered the most prestigious Dirt Late Model race of the year from September 8-10, as the 52nd Annual 'World 100' was held at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Things kicked off at the "Big E" with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs - each of which shelled out a $12,000 paycheck. On Thursday night driving for Tony Jackson, Jr. Racing in the opener, Darrell finished tenth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main, which unfortunately kept him out of his 25-lap feature event. In a similar show on Friday evening, Darrell grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race before winding up eighteenth in the final finishing order of the 25-lapper.

At Eldora Speedway on Saturday, all eyes were fixated on who would walk away with the $55,000 first place prize money and the famous globe trophy. Darrell placed tenth in his stacked heat race and chose to scratch from competing in his B-Main. Therefore, the Union, Kentucky Hall of Famer was not a part of the 100-lap 'World 100' that was ultimately won by Jonathan Davenport. Lanigan Makes Return to Racing in North/South 100 at Florence

The 2022 campaign for the Darrell Lanigan Racing (DLR) team continued from August 11-13 in the 40th Annual 'North/South 100' at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Following a rain-out on Thursday night, a $5,000 to win preliminary event took place at the Cincinnati-area venue on Friday evening. Darrell Lanigan, making his first appearance since early June, timed in sixteenth quickest in Group B during qualifying prior to running seventh in his heat race. Darrell then picked off a trio of competitors during his 25-lap sprint to place sixteenth in the final finishing order.

Once Saturday rolled around at the 1/2-mile oval, all eyes at Florence Speedway were fixated on the whopping $75,000 top prize in the 'North/South 100.' Darrell finished sixth in his loaded heat race and sixteenth in his B-Main. Darrell Lanigan Eighth in Million Prelim; Transfers into Headliner!

The lucrative 'Eldora Million' and 'Dirt Late Model Dream' were next on the racing calendar for Darrell Lanigan, as the #29 team trekked to the famed Eldora Speedway from June 8-11. Following a washout at the Rossburg, Ohio facility on Wednesday night, the entire 'Eldora Million' program was contested on Thursday. During the daytime $12,000 to win preliminary event, Darrell ran second in his heat race prior to winding up eighth in the final finishing order of the 25-lap sprint. In the nightcap, Darrell grabbed the second transfer spot through his heat race to advance into the $1,002,022 to win 'Eldora Million' headliner and was eventually paid for an eighteenth place performance in the 101-lap affair.

When the weekend rolled around in the Buckeye State, the attention turned to the annual running of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' In the preliminary show on Friday evening, Darrell unfortunately suffered terminal mechanical trouble early in the night and was forced to scratch from the remainder of the weekend. Lanigan Returns to Action in Busy Memorial Day Weekend

After over a month away from the racetrack, Darrell Lanigan and his #29 team returned to competition in a pair of events in the Buckeye State on May 28-29. On Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, a $20,000 top prize was up for grabs with the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series. Darrell stopped the clock eighth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to running second in heat race action. After drawing the seventh starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 60-lap feature, the Union, Kentucky ace fought hard for a top ten showing and eventually was paid for a steady ninth place performance.

At Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Sunday night, a $5,000 winner's check was on the line in the annual running of the 'Johnny Appleseed Classic.' Darrell qualified twelfth quickest overall during time trials before securing a heat race triumph. After rolling off from the outside of the front row in the 30-lap feature, Darrell led early in the contest before his nose folded under due to the rugged racing surface. Darrell Lanigan Racing (DLR) invaded Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on April 22-23 for a pair of World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series showdowns dubbed as the 'Outlaw Invasion.' On Friday night in the $10,000 to win weekend opener, Darrell Lanigan timed in third fastest in Group B during qualifying prior to running third in his heat race and ninth in the 40-lap feature event. In Saturday's $15,000 to win finale, Darrell grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race before advancing up to twelfth in the 50-lapper. Lanigan Suffers Mechanical Woes Late in 46th Annual Spring 50

Next up on the racing calendar for the #29 team was a visit to the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, April 16. The 46th edition of the 'Spring 50' took place at the 1/2-mile oval and 37 competitors showed up to compete in the $10,000 to win program. Darrell Lanigan timed in sixth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session before securing an impressive win in heat race action. After starting third on the grid in the 50-lap daytime headliner, Darrell was running inside of the top five until his motor shut off late in the feature distance. Darrell Lanigan Makes Single-Race Appearance at 81 Speedway

Darrell Lanigan, of Union, Kentucky, made an unannounced trip to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Friday night, April 8 and jumped behind the wheel of a Tony Jackson, Jr. #56L back-up machine. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series lid lifter drew 39 competitors for the 'Heartland Hustle' opener and a $5,000 paycheck was up for grabs.

Darrell ran fifth in his heat race prior to picking up a victory in his B-Main. He then blasted past seven competitors during the course of the 30-lap feature on his way to a steady eleventh place effort at the Sunflower State oval. Darrell did not compete in the $7,000 to win weekend finale on Saturday, April 9 at 81 Speedway, as Tony Jackson, Jr. needed to utilize his back-up car for the MLRA points event. Lanigan Seventh in Bristol Dirt Nationals Finale; Seventh in Points!

The 2nd Annual 'Bristol Dirt Nationals' wrapped up on April 1-2 with two more $50,000 to win throwdowns at the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway. The XR Super Series and Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series once again co-sanctioned all of the ground-pounding Super Late Model action at the storied Bristol, Tennessee facility. On Friday night, Darrell Lanigan knocked down the ninth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying before placing fifth in his loaded heat race. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Darrell then finished sixteenth in the final rundown of the 50-lap headliner.

All eyes were then fixated on yet another $50,000 payday on Saturday evening in the 'Bristol Dirt Nationals' finale at “The Last Great Colosseum." Darrell stopped the clock fifth fastest in Group B during time trials and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. The Union, Kentucky standout then swept past seven competitors during the 50-lapper to land a strong seventh place performance. The Darrell Lanigan Racing (DLR) team made the trek to Bristol, Tennessee over the March 25-26 weekend to compete in the 2nd Annual 'Bristol Dirt Nationals' at the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway. The XR Super Series and Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series co-sanctioned the weekend at BMS and a pair of $50,000 top prizes were up for grabs. On Friday night in the opener, Darrell Lanigan stopped the clock ninth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. Darrell then picked off five racecars during the course of the 50-lap headliner on his way to a solid eighth place performance.

A similar program was then held at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday evening. Darrell laid down the fourth quickest lap in Group B during time trials prior to finishing second in heat race action. The Union, Kentucky Hall of Famer then moved past two competitors during the 50-lapper to land in the sixth finishing position. Darrell trailed only winner Chris Ferguson, Scott Bloomquist, Ricky Weiss, Jonathan Davenport, and Ricky Thornton, Jr. at the checkered flag. Lanigan Back at Volusia for Annual DIRTcar Nationals

The 51st edition of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' wrapped up tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as a total of 57 drivers entered the finale at the Barberville, Florida speedplant to gun for the $10,000 winner's check with the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series. Darrell Lanigan qualified twelfth quickest in Group A during the time trial session before finishing sixth in his heat race and third in his B-Main. Unfortunately, Darrell was unable to make the start in the 40-lap "Speedweeks" finale that was ultimately won by Chris Madden.

(February 18, 2022) The penultimate event of the 51st Annual 'DIRTcar Nationals' took place earlier tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as another $10,000 windfall was on the line with the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series at the Daytona Beach-area speedplant. Darrell Lanigan laid down the quickest lap in Group A during time trials prior to securing an impressive heat race triumph. The Union, Kentucky Hall of Famer then drew the outside of the second row for the start of the 40-lap feature and drove up to third to land on the podium behind only victor Dennis Erb, Jr. and runner-up Chase Junghans!

(February 17, 2022) Round four of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' saw teams chase another $10,000 top prize tonight at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Darrell Lanigan stopped the clock third fastest in Group B during the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series qualifying session and later ran second in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the 40-lap main event, Darrell picked off nine competitors to land on the podium in third behind only feature winner Dale McDowell and runner-up Devin Moran!

(February 16, 2022) Darrell Lanigan was busy tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as he competed in not only the regularly-scheduled $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series program at the Barberville, Florida facility, but also a rain-postponed feature from January's annual 'Sunshine Nationals' that boasted an additional $10,000 paycheck. Darrell won his heat race in preliminary action before scoring a strong fifth place effort in the 40-lap feature behind only race winner Brandon Overton, Devin Moran, Brandon Sheppard, and Hudson O'Neal. In the make-up main event from January, Darrell unfortunately ran into issues and was officially placed twenty-third in the final finishing order of the 40-lapper.

(February 15, 2022) The second night of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' took center stage at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida and even though the program was paused for awhile due to rain showers, the $7,000 to win DIRTcar Super Late Model show was still able to get into the record books during the wee hours of the morning. Darrell Lanigan stopped the clock fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to placing fourth in heat race action. Darrell then ran into trouble during his B-Main and finished eleventh, which unfortunately kept him out of the 30-lap headliner that was won by Ryan Gustin.

(February 14, 2022) Back where his 2022 campaign started in January, Darrell Lanigan returned to Volusia Speedway Park today to compete in the first round of the 51st Annual 'DIRTcar Nationals.' The DIRTcar Super Late Models roared into the Barberville, Florida facility and 47 competitors were on hand to vie for the $7,000 first place prize money. Darrell timed in ninth quickest in Group A during qualifying before running second in his loaded heat race. The Union, Kentucky superstar then rolled off from the inside of the third row and later wound up twelfth in the final rundown of the 30-lapper.

Darrell Lanigan Starts 2022 Campaign in Sunshine Nationals

In a weekend plagued by rugged track conditions and now inclement weather, tonight's regularly scheduled 'Sunshine Nationals' finale at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida has been wiped out and the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series program will not be rescheduled.

(January 21, 2022) Round two of the 'Sunshine Nationals' took center stage at Volusia Speedway Park tonight and another $10,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Darrell Lanigan stopped the clock third fastest in Group B during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying session before finishing second in his stacked heat race. Darrell was then slated to start fifth on the grid in the A-Main, but rain showers before the race postponed the headliner until Wednesday, February 16 as part of the annual 'DIRTcar Nationals.'

(January 20, 2022) The Darrell Lanigan Racing (DLR) team kicked off their version of the 2022 racing season in the 'Sunshine Nationals' opener at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series lid lifter shelled out a $10,000 paycheck. Darrell Lanigan, who was wheeling a new Longhorn Chassis, qualified tenth fastest in Group B before placing fifth in his loaded heat race. Following a second place finish in his B-Main, Darrell was scheduled to start the main event from the outside of the tenth row. In the 30-lapper, which was pushed back to Friday afternoon due to time constraints and rough track conditions, the Union, Kentucky ace advanced nine positions during the race en route to a steady eleventh place effort.
